What kids bring to your life

Last night Billy, Hunter and I were on our way out to a BBQ with my entire family who is visiting from Canada. I ran into the garage for a quick second and saw that our hot water heater had collapsed and our garage was flooded. Needless to say, we were unable to go to dinner and our night became extremely stressful quick! We cleaned up what we could, had a quick dinner and got in bed. Hunter tried his usual schenanegans to have a snack and sleep in our bed which usually is a no, but this time I just put him in bed with me and said OK because I was just to tired to deal with any argument. I think both Billy and I were both thinking of household worries and not really focused on what we were doing. We got to Hunters favorite part of the book where Bob the Dog howls really loud and Hunter started Howling!! Then he said, Mommy's turn, Daddy's turn, and before I knew it we are all laughing hysterically and howling in bed. It was such a great moment and a wonderful reminder that we are so lucky to have what we have. Our wonderful little man once again reminded us of what is really important in life and that things really will be fine.
