What kids bring to your life

Last night Billy, Hunter and I were on our way out to a BBQ with my entire family who is visiting from Canada. I ran into the garage for a quick second and saw that our hot water heater had collapsed and our garage was flooded. Needless to say, we were unable to go to dinner and our night became extremely stressful quick! We cleaned up what we could, had a quick dinner and got in bed. Hunter tried his usual schenanegans to have a snack and sleep in our bed which usually is a no, but this time I just put him in bed with me and said OK because I was just to tired to deal with any argument. As we lay in bed reading one of Hunters favorite books, Bob the Dog

I think both Billy and I were both thinking of household worries and not really focused on what we were doing. We got to Hunters favorite part of the book where Bob the Dog howls really loud and Hunter started Howling!! Then he said, Mommy's turn, Daddy's turn, and before I knew it we are all laughing hysterically and howling in bed. It was such a great moment and a wonderful reminder that we are so lucky to have what we have. Our wonderful little man once again reminded us of what is really important in life and that things really will be fine.

Little Smurfs

As a parent of one child I know I have a problem with wanting to buy Hunter everything. Recently I learned that Mc Donalds had Smurf toys which Hunter just happens to be into lately. Being that we do our best not to give Hunter fast food I didn't want to go buy a happy meal & get the toy but I wasn't going to let that stop me. Luckily, Billy is just as bad, if not worse about buying toys, so this evening we drove through the drive through and just asked to buy all the different Smurf toys & vanilla cones. We laughed at ourselves & then new it was worth it when our little dudes face lit up! Meet our new Smurf friends! :)

Hunter's 2nd Birthday Celebration - Spiderman Style
