The loves of my life!

Little Hunter is only 3 weeks and it seems like he has changed so much already. Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to this week. He is now sleeping in his crib instead of the bassinet in our room. I think he actually adjusted much better than Billy and I did. My favorite place to watch him sleep is on Billy's chest, that's when I sneak up and take tons of pictures. :)
So far Hunter loves his baths with dad, and has started to like his swing a little more. During the day we enjoy walks to the park and to Starbucks for coffee. This week he had his first sleep over when Uncle Thomas stayed the night, it was a great visit for all of us!

Well Kat(she does not like when i call her that but i am not calling her boo on here) and I are hanging in there as the title of the post. We are not getting much sleep and really just trying to figure it out . Hunter is so cool and waking up at 11:30 pm, 2am, 4am , & 5am is all worth it when we are just holding him and we look down and he is doing his little Elvis smile, you know the one where one side of his top lip is raising, too cute, or when he is sleeping and just cooing away. The sleep thing is a given but we just roll with the punches, and i don't like to complain about it because so many people have been threw it so i just try make the best of our early am feedings. I like to say it takes me back to when I was 21 staying up all night to get 2 maybe 3 hours of sleep & wake up to go to work. The good thing is now a days I'm not hung over. :-) But i would not trade anything in because being a dad if pretty sweet and seeing Kat as a mom is so cool, she is just great at it. We definitely do this thing as Team Boo(inside kind of joke). This is the week hunter was suppose to be born but we just couldn't wait any more and are very happy that he came early and was healthy. ( hang in there the mama any day now for you and DH & baby c) Well just wanted to do a little post on how we are doing. We added lots of pictures and not many words, but I am kind of digging the whole blog thing. Good by for now.

Welcome Hunter!

Well the day has come Hunter Thomas Cummings was born on July 29 @ 9:50 pm @ San Ramon Regional. His weight was 7lb 4oz he was 21" long a true Cummings! (ha ha joke) Labor for me was not that bad ;-) now for Katherine i can't say the same thing , but she handled it with true grace and beauty. She started having contractions on Tuesday night and was up all night long with them, when 6am came along and it was time for her shot of blood thinner. (early on she had developed a blood clot) I was getting ready for work , when i asked if she had gotten any sleep ,she said she had not and was wondering if she should give herself the shot , I told her in my personnal opinion (I've watched a lot grays and hawthorne so i am pretty qualified) I

would not and let's call her doctor, so she did and she told her to go to the hospital to be monitored, so no work for me and off to the hospital. We were there for about an hour and a half when the nurse said that Katherine's doctor wanted to admit her, so i asked her"now this may be a dumb question but does this mean that when we leave here we will be leaving with a baby, the nurse replied " yes you will"! With Katherine on the blood thinners she had to wait till it was all out of her system before she could get an epidural which took about twelve hours so around 4:45 - 5 o'clock the anesthesiologist came in and and gave her what she really needed ,and it made the world of difference. At about 6 pm she was dilated to about 5 cm and they were giving her pitocin which they said could take a while to get her to 10 cm dilated . Well to cut to the chase she started pushing at 9 pm and beautiful little Hunter came in to the world at 9:50pm. Katherine and I were both pretty tired, her more than I obviously but we were both just really over joyed at the baby boy we created together. Our nurse Sharon was a great nurse with over 30 years of experience, she was tough yet encouraging and a great help. I cut the Umbilical Cord and was just so happy for my wife and new son. We are home now and just doing our thing trying to get adjusted. Thank you to everyone for the prayers, texts and the calls, Katherine and I for the weekend will be trying to get some rest her especially, but just wanted the world to see our son.

Love you all!
